International Valuations Standards Council appoints JLL’s Head of Valuation to Standards Board

The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has appointed Andrew Renshaw, Head of Valuation at JLL UK, based in London to its Standards Board

​London, 4th November 2014 – The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), the global setter of international valuation standards among financial markets and real estate investors has appointed Andrew Renshaw, Head of Valuation at JLL UK, based in London to its Standards Board.

The Board is responsible for the development and endorsement of a single set of high quality international valuation standards. Along with eight Board members, Andrew will be responsible for setting the technical agenda, establishing methods and procedures whereby the Board may consult with experts and parties interested in the valuation standards as well as holding public meetings and hosting digital forums to discuss proposed standards.

Andrew Renshaw, Head of Valuation at JLL, said, “The objective to advance and endorse agreement and awareness of valuation standards across the globe is one JLL supports. Providing a standardised approach is fast becoming expected and we need a high quality open and transparent valuation framework that will improve confidence across global financial markets. I’m privileged to have been appointed to the Standards Board where I will work with other committed members in crafting and revising the valuation standards agenda and supporting technical guidance to ensure this initiative grows and above all succeeds.”

Sir David Tweedie, Chairman of the IVSC Board of Trustees, added: “Standards Board members are chosen on the basis of their valuation expertise, experience and commitment to achieving IVSC objectives. Andrew is well regarded in his field and has demonstrated a high level of professional knowledge and technical competency in the principles of valuation. Being the Head of Valuation at JLL as well as UK Board member in the property firm means he has the necessary communication skills and professional profile to help drive this initiative forward. He is wholeheartedly committed to the cause and we need people like this on the Board.”
