JLL appointed to deliver £1.3m Manchester Fort redevelopment

Building consultancy team instructed to manage 2,873 sq ft new build

Manchester, 30 October - The building consultancy team at JLL in Manchester has been appointed as project managers for a £1.3m redevelopment project at Manchester Fort by TIAA Henderson Real Estate.

The 325,000 sq ft site is one of the largest retail parks in the North West and currently boasts 36 units, with tenants including B&Q, Argos, Boots and TK Maxx, and a 1,400-space car park.

JLL has been appointed to project manage the works which include construction of a new 2,873 sq ft McDonalds restaurant and car park.

Nick Currie, director, building consultancy at JLL, said: “The site’s expansion highlights the ongoing success of retail sites on the periphery of town centres and the project will further Manchester Fort’s appeal with consumers around the region.

“Out-of-town retail and its associated warehousing represent busy areas for the North West construction sector with both new build and refit schemes continuing to come forward and a strong pipeline of upcoming development projects to take us through to 2015.”
