JLL appoints Virginia Rothwell to UK Board as HR Director

Virginia Rothwell brings over 20 years HR experience from outside the property industry to the role

JLL has appointed Virginia Rothwell to the Board level role of UK HR Director to lead the firm’s people management strategy.

Virginia will bring over 20 years of HR experience from across a range of business sectors including IT and communications, professional services and retail sectors to JLL. She has a specific passion for leadership development and talent management and spearheaded the people strategy enabling BT to deliver the ‘Broadband Britain 21st Century Network’ agenda. This transformed a large part of the organisation from an engineering to a customer focused business to facilitate the broadband roll out.
Following 13 years in global BT roles, Virginia held Group HR Director positions for IT services provider Phoenix plc and international education support services provider Tribal Group plc.

Guy Grainger, UK Chief Executive of JLL commented: “Virginia’s knowledge and fresh perspective will be invaluable in helping us develop a people strategy focused on developing and retaining our firm’s talent. Virginia’s proven track record in delivering employee engagement schemes and transforming people management strategies will help us to develop an even stronger, diverse and vibrant workforce.”

Virginia Rothwell added: “I will be developing a people strategy for JLL that will focus on helping employees to harness and develop their talent, based on my experience in technology and professional services. Implementing the right development, reward and recognition programmes are key to this. I am looking forward to bringing my cross sector experience to the role and ensuring that JLL’s people strategy for attracting, supporting and retaining talent is cutting edge for now and the future.”
