Jones Lang LaSalle sell prominent office building at Quorum Business Park

NR6648 Quorum Business Park.jpgNewcastle, 23 May 2013 - Jones Lang LaSalle has sold a 40,000 sq ft office building at Quorum Business Park to TDR Training (Training & Development Resource Ltd).

TDR Training, who were represented by Gavin Black & Partners, has acquired Q1 for an undisclosed sum as part of their on-going expansion plans.

TDR is a charitable trust with the main objective of promoting science, technology and engineering as positive career options for young people after leaving school and it aims to develop Q1 as a prominent addition to its delivery portfolio.

Bill McGawley, OBE, TDR Chairman commented; “Given the continuing need for quality staff with a bias towards engineering, science and technology we are making a significant and growing contribution to the region’s economy.

‘As a result we have been seeking a prestigious base to accommodate our expansion plans and therefore instructed Gavin Black & Partners to carry out a search on our behalf. Now that this important acquisition is agreed it means that all of our training and development will be delivered from our new facility from this summer. All our current programmes will be enhanced by this new facility which will create a true learning environment.”

Martyn Collins, Partner, Gavin Black & Partners, says he carried out a very extensive search across Gateshead and north of the river Tyne. “We had a clear brief in terms of size, quality and connectivity and Q1 certainly matched all these requirements,”

Simon Taylor, Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle added: “This is a significant step for TDR Training who have made the move from being a tenant in Gateshead to owning their own high quality building at a leading business park in Newcastle.  Quorum offers great opportunities for businesses to upgrade the quality of their office accommodation and in many cases without an increase in costs.’

Q1 is a three storey office building offering flexible open plan floor space, the top floor is currently let to Insure the Box.  Quorum Business Park is one of the largest speculative office developments in the UK outside central London and is currently home to occupiers including IBM, Tesco Bank, Convergys and Balfour Beatty.
