JLL hosts record breaking Property 5K run and raises £20,094 for Samaritans

Property run sees over 1000 entries

LONDON, 29th August 2014 - The Property industry yesterday turned out in force to support the 6th JLL Property 5K in Regent’s Park. This was the largest Property 5k event to date with over 1000 of the property industry taking part, which as an event has raised over £435,000 in total for charity since it began.

The race raises money for JLL’s charity partner and this year raised £20,094 for Samaritans. UK Chief Executive Guy Grainger competed in the race dressed as a Flinstone and pledged a £1 donation for every runner he overtook.

Guy Grainger, UK Chief Executive of JLL commented: “The success of this event comes not long after the Property Triathlon which also broke our entrant and fundraising records. As a firm we are committed and enthusiastic about delivering for our charity partnership and we are pleased to see that the rest of the industry is equally passionate about charity and health & fitness.”

Catherine Johnstone, Chief Executive of Samaritans commented: “What a fantastic effort by everyone who took part in yesterday’s 5k run for Samaritans. I’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the event. Staff at JLL have been doing a great job fundraising for Samaritans for two years.  Every penny raised has made a vital difference to our charity, allowing us to be there to answer more than 5 million calls for help each year.”
