JLL's Retail Marketing and Management teams celebrate success at SCEPTRE awards

Team pick up 3 accolades at shopping centre awards ceremony


JLL’s Retail Marketing and Management teams have won two awards for Marketing Manager and Centre Manager of the year and came runner up in the Young Achiever of the Year category.

Hosted by Shopping Centre Magazine, the SCEPTRE awards were launched in 2000 to recognise successes and achievements in the shopping centre industry.


The team were shortlisted for five awards and picked up two: Marketing Manager of the year and Large Centre Manager of the year. Pippa Stennett won Marketing Manager of the year for her work on Jackson Square, Bishop’s Stortford. Pippa has worked on the centre since July last year and has responsibility for all marketing and PR activity. Her strategy of focusing on community engagement has resulted in a 5.5% year on year increase in footfall and innovative events such as vintage fairs have increased sales for tenants by as much as 68% year on year.


Mark Rycraft was named Large Centre manager of the year for his management of Middleton Grange, Hartlepool. His achievements include setting up a Retailer Award programme, generation of over £700,000 in free PR, founding a North East shopping centre forum for managers across the region and running a fundraising campaign for a local cancer sufferer which raised over £100,000.


Louise Scott, marketing executive in the team was crowned runner up in the category of Young Achiever of the Year. She has been responsible for several projects including the development of a community hub at Artizan shopping centre, Dumbarton. Using vacant space she developed 18 CSR relationships, hosting workshops to create artwork for 11 void unit vinyls and transformed one into a community hub. The hub launch increased footfall by 22.3 per cent week on week and retailer sales by 15 per cent week on week.
