Spectrum building recruits the recruiters

Global company signs ten-year lease on office space

Glasgow, 24 June 2014 – A leading global recruitment firm has taken a 10-year lease in the heart of Glasgow.

Hays will move into the Spectrum building on 55 Blythswood Street on 1 August after signing the deal which was conducted by JLL on behalf of Orchard Street Investment Management.

The company will take the 9,255 sq. ft. first floor of the building in the city centre.

Colin McGhee, JLL, Glasgow said: "Hays' 10-year commitment shows that businesses continue to have faith in the market here in Glasgow and in Scotland.

"With the M8 motorway and Central train station both close by, the recently refurbished Spectrum building is ideally positioned to meet the needs of the modern business. The location, coupled with the high-quality accommodation on offer, made this the perfect choice for Hays."

Akash Marwaha, operations director at Hays, said: "The Spectrum's exterior is hugely impressive, however we are most looking forward to our new open plan office space and the building's facilities. This is the ideal home for us for at least the next decade and we look forward to welcoming our customers to our new office."

The accommodation benefits from a striking entrance reception, floor to ceiling glazed walling, exceptional natural daylight and dedicated archive storage areas.

Current tenants within the Spectrum building include scotcall, Mortgages PLC and Giles Insurance.

Hays employs over 7,840 people in 33 countries, helping to place professional candidates into permanent, temporary and interim jobs in areas from accountancy and finance to construction and healthcare.

JLL is acting as joint letting agent with Ryden.
