New operator at former Que Pasa Taunton nightclub

The former Que Pasa nightclub in Taunton is set to reopen having been standing empty for more than five years.

Acting on behalf of the Marston’s pub company, property consultancy JLL has confirmed that the late-night leisure operator, Fever Bars, has taken the unit in High Street.

Michael Easton, associate director at JLL’s Exeter office, said:

“While there has been steady activity in the leisure sector, finding the right tenant for this 22,000 sq ft site that had run into such disrepair was always going to be difficult.

“After a number of false starts, Fever Bars will be undertaking an extensive refurbishment programme to create a twin scene venue comprising a Fever bar on one floor and a concept called Boutique on another.

“They have been very successful around the country and this complements their closest operation in Barnstaple which opened last year and has already proved to be a big hit in the town.”
Mark Shorting of Fever Bars, said:

“We have been through a strong period of growth as a company and, having identified the changing scene in the late night leisure market, we have created venues that are proving popular with local clubbers.

“Taunton has always been a strong trading town and we are looking forward to the opening which is planned for late March.”
Michael Easton continues:
“Despite the pressures on the leisure sector generally, there is always activity and always operators who, with a clear business plan and passion, will be successful."
