Jones Lang LaSalle launches new Retail Management business

New team reflects changing nature of the retail environment

London, 4th December 2013 - Jones Lang LaSalle has announced the creation of a new Retail Management team to cater for the way that technology and innovation is changing the shape of retail. The new team will bring together its expertise in shopping centre, retail park, mixed use and premium asset management to create a new holistic Retail Management offer.

Catherine Lambert, currently Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle’s UK Shopping Centre Management team, will lead the new organisation as Executive Chairman of UK Retail Management.  Jordan Jeffery, currently Director of Central London Property and Asset Management team and the Design for Management team, will be Head of the new group.  Catherine and Jordan will be joined on the leadership team by Carrie Sanders, Ros Oxley, John Bowman, Susannah Jeffs and Lucy Oldham.

Catherine Lambert commented: “Technology and social media is revolutionising the way consumers interact with retailers, occupiers and the built environment and as a property adviser we need to be knowledgeable about these changes to help space owners and investors stay ahead.  Shopping centres and retail parks are now destinations in their own right and are expected to create a blend of shopping, leisure and experiences for visitors. We are anticipating scope for further development and growth of our 90 strong Retail Management team given the pace of change in the retail sector and the growing importance of the consumer experience in the retail spaces. ”

John Michell, current Lead Director of Shopping Centre Management has resigned from the business to take a role closer to his home in Wales.
