Last chance to snap up prime development opportunity

Glasgow, 11 February 2014 - Offers are being sought on a prime 2.6 acre site in Lenzie as a closing date of Wednesday 19 February is set for the sale.

There has been strong interest to date – from both commercial and residential developers – in the former Larkfield Centre and Grounds, which is being marketed by Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and East Dunbartonshire Council.
The asset, on the corner of Initiative Road and Woodilee Road, consists of two distinct areas – the northern part of the site which contains Larkfield Lodge – a listed building most recently used as an NHS Health Centre – and land adjacent to the Seven Sisters.

Suitable for a range of alternative uses, the site benefits from the new Kirkintilloch Link Road, which provides easy access to Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh via the M80.

Nina Stobie, associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “With its prominent location, the site gives developers a unique opportunity in this area.

“Excellent commuting links with Edinburgh and Glasgow make it an attractive proposition for both commercial and residential developers and we expect to see continued interest right up to the closing date.”

Glasgow Queen Street station can be reached within 15 minutes by train from Lenzie station, and the site is a short distance from both Kirkintilloch town centre and Lenzie village.

Woodilee Village, which features a green space including woodland walks and children's play areas, is also in close proximity.

Interested parties are invited to submit full legal offers to Jones Lang LaSalle prior to the closing date of 12 noon on Wednesday 19 February.
