Thames Gateway will be the heartbeat of economic growth in the UK

According to new report from Jones Lang LaSalle and Invest Thames Gateway

Jones Lang LaSalle and Invest Thames Gateway have launched a new research report to showcase the entire Thames Gateway region as an investment location.  The Thames Gateway: Business without Boundaries is a guide aimed at businesses, property investors and occupiers and identifies prospects, challenges and achievements in the area.

Vanessa Clark, agency director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s East London Business team said; “The Thames Gateway remains a compelling idea.  It is becoming more focused on delivery in a few key locations.  It offers real operational advantages to occupiers because of the huge investment in infrastructure which will in turn underpin returns to investment.  Momentum will increase even further because of the London 2012 Olympics, the commencement of High Speed 1 (HS1) railway and domestic rail services this year.

Bill Page, Head of UK Offices Research at Jones Lang LaSalle said; “Our research documents the skills, infrastructure and labour market advantages to occupiers and the very considerable real estate investment flows that are being generated.  The homes and jobs targets set by the Government are hugely challenging but, crucially, we are seeing continued investment and development through the recession and the Gateway is now far more resilient.”

Jeff Alexander, Chairman of Invest Thames Gateway and co-sponsors of the report said: “The Thames Gateway is certainly ready for the next chapter in its development, one that will be significantly enhanced by the attraction of high quality Inward Investment into the Region. Many people have heard of the Thames Gateway, possibly without realising the full breadth of opportunity that exists there. The area has great access to new markets and growing populations; excellent infrastructure to enable businesses to operate successfully and support from positive, experienced people who know how to make things happen.  We hope that this Report makes it easier for potential investors to understand what we have in the Thames Gateway and to look more closely at us.”
