Jones Lang LaSalle’s Planning team secures outline permission for new ExCeL hotel

London, 1st July 2009 - Jones Lang LaSalle’s Planning team has secured outline planning permission for a new hotel with up to 280 bedrooms at ExCeL (London International Exhibition Centre).

The hotel proposal was submitted by Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of ExCeL as part of its ‘offer’ to complement its adjacent exhibition and conference facilities.  ExCeL will play host to a number of events for the Olympic and Paralympic games.

Jones Lang LaSalle Planning director Jeff Field said; “It is a major attempt on the part of ExCeL to increase vitality at the eastern end of its estate, with construction underway on its new conference centre. The London Borough of Newham has played its part and there will be local benefits in the form of employment training and public realm improvements.”

The hotel architects were Jestico + Whiles and their curved design will create a landmark building marking the entrance to ExCeL's new conference centre.
