Jones Lang LaSalle announces new letting to Synapse Learning at Capitol House in Leeds

One of city centre’s larger office lettings to complete this year

Leeds, 9th November 2010 –In one of the bigger office leasing deals in Leeds city centre during 2010, Jones Lang LaSalle, acting on behalf of Evans Property Group, has successfully let space at Capitol House on Russell Street to Synapse Learning.  Synapse Learning, which specialises in career training for 15-19 year olds, has taken 7,104 sq ft of space on a five-year lease in a deal which sees the company open its first office in Yorkshire and its ninth regional location in the UK.

Tom Brammeld, Senior Surveyor in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Office Agency team in Leeds, said: “Occupier activity in the sub-10,000 sq ft office market has remained at a consistent level to 2008 and 2009; however with just three deals over 10,000 sq ft completed in Leeds so far this year this letting to Synapse Learning is significant.

Tom continued: “Capitol House has long been popular with small and medium sized occupiers and this deal brings another quality tenant into the building and indeed the city.”

Harlan Pollitt, Property and Development Manager at Evans Property Group, added: “Synapse’s arrival is an excellent occupier fit for Capitol House and I am confident this letting will kick start further activity both in this building and our newly refurbished Minerva House next door.”

Jones Lang LaSalle is joint leasing agents on Capitol House and Minerva House with CB Richard Ellis.
