Shaping and implementing a long term vision for Stratford
JLL is at the forefront of advising on London's regeneration and shaping new districts. Stratford is an outstanding example of this. From advising the London Development Agency on the investment framework to selecting a development partner to deliver the Olympic village, JLL has shaped the masterplan and development strategy of this area for over 15 years.
Our involvement continues and in 2015, JLL was proud to have advised LCR and Lendlease on securing the first two pre-lets and subsequent forward funding of c.800,000 sq ft at The International Quarter. Our Residential team was appointed as UK sales agent for Lendlease and LCR's Glasshouse Gardens whilst our Retail Shopping Centre Leasing team act for Westfield on Westfield Stratford City.
10 Broadway (New Scotland Yard)
JLL worked on the West End's largest ever Land Deal with a holistic approach. The multi-disciplined team collaborated with all parties including Westminster and the GLA to develop a conceptual scheme through the pre-application process. Using our global network, we ensured maximum exposure to both international and domestic developers and investors.

Silvertown Royal Docks
Silvertown was a forgotten district of London for many years until developers First Base and Lipton Rogers appointed the JLL London Unlimited team to assist them in regenerating the 62 acre site. Now the largest regeneration project in East London, the aim is to create a 21st Century destination of 5m sq ft of flexible office space, brand experiences and 3,000 new homes.
We have been instrumental in helping with the site master-plan, drawing upon our knowledge of global mixed use scheme best practice, pioneering occupier trends in the media and technology sectors and micro trends within the East London market. We have also devised the refurbishment and leasing strategy for Millennium Mills, a 350,000 sq ft monolithic grain store built in 1905. The aim here is to create a centre of excellence for pioneering SME businesses.
The Ram Brewery site totals 7.75 acres and comprises 14 separate buildings, with consent granted for 661 residential units. The scheme will include 32 individual retail and leisure units creating a new retail quarter. Our involvement consisted of:
JLL continues to play a key role in shaping the regeneration of London. We are appointed as joint strategic advisers on the masterplan for a vibrant new mixed use office, retail and residential scheme at Canada Water.
The 46 acre development opportunity near London Bridge has excellent existing infrastructure and will also benefit from the opening of Crossrail at Canary Wharf in 2018. It is a major, long term project, which will be delivered in a number of phases and presents a unique opportunity to create an attractive, mixed use town centre which fully reflects the needs of local communities.
JLL are helping to transform the former US embassy into the 'finest hotel in London' with a positive contribution to the local community. A dedicated project team across disciplines provided best use appraisal on the optimal, sustainable, investment value option. We then created competitive tension during a global operation selection process of 15 luxury operators. The team challenged current market benchmarks to stretch delivery expectations, which will ensure the project's successful delivery.
Famous as the previous home of the BBC World Service, this listed building has been a landmark since 1924. Upon the BBC's lease ending, JLL advised our client on how to get the most from their investment in the future. The Project Management team coordinated input from several other specialist JLL teams making this one of the finest examples of JLL delivering a truly integrated solution. The team took the building forward from potential obsolescence to long-term resilience by created a flexible office campus fit for the future with top sustainability ratings.
Keys were returned to the client just 20 months from the BBC vacating the building and the 300,000 sq ft of high-specification Cat A office accommodation has been fully let to a single tenant.
JLL has worked with the public sector for several years to shape the Old Oak area.
In the initial stages, JLL provided viability and feasibility appraisals to help shape the "Old Oak Vision" planning framework for a c.150ha piece of industrial and rail associated land. This evolved into an instruction to undertake a Development Infrastructure Funding Study to determine deliverability of thousands of new homes and jobs. Most recently JLL advised the Mayoral Development Corporation on suitable approaches for delivery of a comprehensive masterplan.
Imperial White City
JLL is the lead consultant for the redevelopment of this 7 acre site to deliver a mixed-use scheme of approximately 1 million sq ft. Our Planning team have co-ordinated submission of planning applications for both phases of the development. The team has managed to negotiate with the Planning Authorities, securing the affordable housing and planning gain that the scheme could afford. The scheme will see 600 student units, research and development facilities for Imperial College in addition to a commercial hotel, offices, retail and private residential in a 35-storey tower designed by PLP Architects.
JLL has been advising Land Securities plc on this site in the West End of London for many years. Our Planning team achieved planning permission for the site's comprehensive redevelopment and a Certificate of Immunity from listing. We subsequently delivered the long-term masterplan which will double the amount of floorspace behind the retained, iconic advertising screens. This will allow for new retail, office and residential floorspace behind London's iconic landmark.
JLL acquired four parcels of land representing c. 35 acres on behalf of the local authority in the site assembly process. JLL undertook procurement and selection of preferred partners prior to setting a joint venture delivery vehicle. The 210 acre opportunity area will deliver a £2 billion regeneration comprising 8,000 homes and 1m sq ft of commercial, retail and leisure space.
