"The main driver behind market activity has been the residential market. 2013 was the ‘Year of the Bed’. The active markets of last year were those that saw people requiring a bed, whether this was residential to retirement or student to care. These sectors have responded well to government stimulus with the Right to Buy and Central Bank Funding being major factors.”

Charles Kislingbury, Lead Director - Exeter, commenting on the key trends influencing the local property market.

“All the indications are that the UK will be among the best performing economies in the developed world over 2014. Bristol is well positioned to take advantage of this, given its strengths in the knowledge-based sectors that will drive growth.”

Jon Neale, Head of UK Research, commenting on the economic outlook
