Case Study

Ministry of Justice

JLL has been providing multi-disciplinary estates professional surveying services to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) since 2002. The portfolio comprises some 350 properties including offices, courts and prisons extending to 10 million sq ft. Services include acquisitions, disposals, strategic advice, rent reviews, lease renewals, valuations and dilapidations.

We played a central role in the disposal programme run by Her Majesty's Courts & Tribunals Service , disposing of 20 courts generating £80m. These complex assets have required significant due diligence to ensure we achieve the maximum receipt whilst being sensitive to heritage issues and local interest. We have also had particular success in the last 18 months with lease restructures and surrenders, which have generated savings of £47m for MoJ.
