ChallengeThis £275,000 residential mews refurbishment project was undertaken for The Church Commissioners on their Hyde Park Estate. In order to achieve the target rent, the 1,142 ft² two single storey mews house was transformed into a contemporary two bedroom, two bathroom house.
SolutionThe scheme showcases the use of high quality surface finishes, modern interior design and attention to detail with features including a Poggenpohl kitchen, bespoke staircase, LCD glass screen and luxury bathroom fittings.
The Building Surveying team acted as Contract Administrator and CDM Co-ordinator under a traditional procurement route, with in-house design team and planning support. Key challenges included structural alterations required to reconfigure the staircase, providing natural light to all accommodation areas and ensuring the high level of finishes were achieved to meet the market demand.
ResultsThe property was let at above the market rent and has acted as a template for similar projects which the team has completed across the estate.
